Children and Families at Cambridge Dental

It's vital for children to receive the best dental care from early in life, to develop good oral health routines and to be comfortable with dental visits. It's also vital for parents to have information, reassurance and support so they know that their children's oral health is secure. Cambridge Dental will ensure that the dental care of your family is looked after.

Child-oriented checkups

We recommend that children attend for a dental examination every six months from the age of two. This will include an examination of the child's teeth for any cavities present, an evaluation of the child for any susceptibility to dental problems and advice on prevention and hygiene.

Child-friendly visits

at Cambridge Dental, we do our best to make young people's visits as welcoming as possible. We believe it’s important to establish good relationships and a familiar routine between children and staff. This ensures that the child is always relaxed about what is happening and can then easily accept treatment and advice.

The noises, smells and surroundings of a dentist can seem a little alien to a child and we want your child to feel as comfortable as possible during their visit. Which is why at Cambridge Dental we allow plenty of time at each appointment for the child to settle in and get used to their environment, before beginning the examination.

Should your child need a treatment, we have a number of child-friendly approaches which make the experience as comfortable as possible, including painless injections and no-drilling fillings.

Dental Hygiene and Prevention Advice

at Cambridge Dental we believe in the prevention of dental trauma, through hygiene maintenance. With regular checkups and a good dental care routine at home, your child can avoid unnecessary treatments. We always give full hygiene and prevention advice at every visit so that your child can create good habits that last a lifetime.

We're very aware that susceptibility to dental problems and the ability to maintain oral health vary widely from one child to another, even within the same family and at different stages of growth and development. That’s why we tailor our advice to each individual child and their needs.

Full parent communication

We want you to feel at ease with every stage of your child’s oral health. Cambridge Dental will give you detailed information, and of course consult you at every stage of diagnosis and treatment. We’ll also give you detailed advice about dental care so that you can support your child and maintain a good dental regime at home.

Paying for your treatment

We offer a range of treatment plans which will allow you and your family to take care of your oral health with the stress of unexpected dental bills. Discounts are offered for families and children. Take a look at our Denplan page to find out more.
