What's the Difference Between a White Crown and a White Filling?

A crown is a permanent prosthetic tooth usually made from porcelain or ceramic that may be required if a tooth or set of teeth have suffered from serious decay or damage. The crown is used to protect the area from any further damage, and restore the functional nature of your teeth.

A filling is often required when a cavity appears within a tooth. This is a less serious problem, but can develop into something worse if not dealt with quickly. When fitting a filling, your dentist initially removes any decay and damaged material from within your tooth, then cleans out the area and finally (in the case of white fillings) fills the gap with porcelain or composite resin. This restores the durability of your teeth and prevents any further damage from occurring.

A crown may be put into place to support a deep filling.

We want you to feel confident in your smile, which is why we provide White Crowns and White Fillings that are perfectly suited to the natural tone of your teeth.
