Invisalign is a clear aligner system which straightens the teeth discreetly, with treatment in most cases taking 3-6 months.
Come in for a smile consultation, during which your dentist will listen to what you like about your smile and what you would like to change. They will then take a digital scan of your teeth so you can see what they look like before treatment and the difference that can be achieved after treatment.
At this second visit, the dentist will have planned your case in a greater and more bespoke detail and will be able to share what the process will involve to makeover your smile. The 3D simulation will allow you to see how your teeth will move over the journey. They will discuss how many aligners you are going to require from start to finish and how they will create the space needed to move your teeth.
Once the clinicheck is approved we can then get the aligners manufactured within 3 weeks and fitted to start moving the teeth.
It works by moving your teeth slowly through a carefully planned sequence of movements over a period of time. It will involve the use of a number of aligners, each aligner designed to move your teeth for a period of approximately 7 days, after which you move on to the next one, working your way through the full set. We will give you your aligners, along with all the instructions for wear, in small batches so we can make sure it is all going to plan.
It is suitable for most patients. It is one of the most technologically advanced treatments in the market, and is able to straighten even the more complex cases. However, the dentist will conduct a thorough assessment of your teeth to make sure you are right for Invisalign and that it can achieve the results you want before you commit to it.
The aligners are much more discreet, almost unnoticeable when worn compared to more traditional brace systems.
It is much easier to clean your teeth and there are no dietary restrictions while having treatment because you are able to remove the aligners when you need to do so. Fixed brace systems are not able to offer you the same level of freedom.
The number and length of visits required over your treatment journey are a lot less compared to fixed brace system, which need frequent adjustment, so it can fit in around your lifestyle much more convenience.
The aligners apply gentle pressure to the teeth to encourage movement and this may lead to some minor discomfort, but it is not painful.
We recommend that you wear the retainers we provide you with for the rest of your life to prevent the teeth slipping back into their original position. They are comfortable and ensure that they hold your teeth in their new and improved position. Your dentist can provide you with replacement retainers should you ever need one.
Treatment costs from £3500, but the dentist will put together a bespoke plan for you which will give you a full breakdown of costs before you commit to treatment. It will depend on the complexity of your case and the length of time it will take to straighten your teeth.
